When I saw the original Argyle sweater set released by Volks for Home Town Dolpa Osaka 7 I for the first time felt I could justify the cost of a Volks outfit for my dolls.
This Dolpa was a real turning point for me, as I really started taking my sewing seriously to try and make cute sets for our girls at more affordable prices.
That being said the quality of Volks clothing is fantastic and for me occasionally worth the hefty price tag. At the time of this release I ended up scoring the Sailor Tulle set instead. I felt it would work well for Mako-chan, and it does!
However…. I missed out on the Argyle Set 😦 So when the June 2014 collection appeared I decided I would go for the Going on a Date Feminine Set. I was shocked I was able to get it! This was my first Click War and I scored what I wanted!!
I was a bit apprehensive as I had placed an order with Volks the previous week and they didn’t get back to me for a couple days to say an item was in fact out of stock. They were very apologetic and refunded my money quickly, but it did nothing to assuage my fear that this click war item was indeed mine. If you are a Volks customer you know how ridiculously hard and complicated it is to get these limited sets.
The time and money was well worth it. In my opinion as it suits Elena perfectly ^_^
I even prefer the mint green skirt to the original sets pink. Pink is my favorite color (as I’m sure some can tell heh heh) but I like the way the mint offsets the colors and makes them a little brighter.
Next up I’m gunning for the lace up set. Or some nice shoes come on Volks SHOES!!!
